Styling florals for a bride whose a stylist is a lot of pressure, but so fun! WE GET EACH OTHER! Alley, a NYC (or somewhere around there) resident and her fiance Joey decided to have a destination wedding in Kentucky. It used to seem so crazy to me that people would ACTUALLY want to come to Kentucky to get married, but I love where I come from so why shouldn’t everyone else, I guess? In fact, now a days, about 75% of my brides live out of town and are coming either home to get married or are having a destination wedding here. Pretty cool. Anyway, Alley grew up visiting family in the state and wanted to show off it’s beauty to her guests. Again, pretty cool. When we first chatted, she told me she remembered queen annes lace growing all over her grandfather’s farm and it had to be incorporated everywhere, and I quote ‘It’s all about the queen annes lace.’ So we used it. Everywhere. In every arrangement, bouquet, her hair…everywhere. I ignored the fact that it’s the ONE flower I’m allergic to, loaded up on allergy meds and brought in 30 bundles of the stuff. ACHOO.
Alley & Joey came down to Kentucky exactly one year before their wedding. We got to hang out for a bit, and let me tell you, they are the coolest. Cool people, cool style (jeweled Miu Miu heels, a flower crown, and cascading garden bouquet… Y E S) and such a beautiful wedding. I am genuinley sad our time together is over, but we have these gorgeous images by Natalie Watson (another out of towner!) to remember it by forever!

Big thank you to Style Me Pretty for sharing their beautiful wedding with the world! Check out their blog to see even more images than I posted below!

Huge thank you to all the vendors and helpers on this wedding- Amanda on florals, Marissa & Kathy on candles, my mom on everything, and Chris on garlands 🙂
